1931 COMPANY ESTABLISHMENT
The company was able to employ more than 80 people and enjoyed great success in its early formation.
1949 FIRST WEIGHTS PRODUCTION
A need was realized for something simple and easy to aid in the balancing process of wheels. After making the first hand mold from plaster, Dionys collected from the local gun club lead scrap bullets to use them as raw material: in this way, the first lead wheel weights were born.
1951 WORLD RECORD BY WILHELM HERZ
An unforgettable day in 1951 for Dionys Hof- mann and his workforce: motorcycle racer Wil- helm Herz personally came to Onstmettingen to balance his wheels at the Dionys Hofmann facil- ity. The long journey rewarded Wilhelm well, as with his perfectly balanced wheels he set a new world speed record. On the motorway Munich – Ingolstadt he reached 284.8 km/h. The Hof- mann wheel weights had passed their first test with flying colours.
